You will find a number of products around to help you quit smoking. These things have probably worked for some, but many folks feel like they have tried everything and just can’t stop. Why not give hypnosis a try? Hypnosis is a highly effective way to quit smoking. Science Magazine says that hypnosis is the most effective way to stop smoking or chewing tobacco. Some studies have shown that the success rate is over 66%.

How does hypnosis work? Hypnosis works by persuading the subconscious mind. You may consciously tell yourself not to smoke, but it is your subconscious mind that is constantly instructing you to smoke. Your subconscious mind does this because it's so used to your smoking. It is your subconscious that wakes you up every day for work; that instructs you to sleep, to eat, and breath. When smoking has become such a critical part of your life, then your subconscious mind starts to integrate smoking into your everyday habits and functions in life.

This is where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis creates a deep calmness in which the subconscious receives advice. The suggestions must be in harmony with your values and goals, or you won’t act on them. Hypnosis helps you establish confidence and motivation. You will develop a strong desire to quit smoking. Hypnosis helps to reprogram your subconscious with healthier decisions. You'll even be able to imagine the toxins of smoking leaving your body.

Think about all the money you'll save because you won't buy cigarettes (approximately $1800 per year for a pack a day habit), the improved health and energy you will feel, the feeling of great achievement you will have, and most significant, the many years you'll add on to your life when you stop.

A really inexpensive place I found that offers hypnosis to quit smoking is the Brigham Hypnosis Center in Utah. Here the hypnotherapy is done in three meetings. The first session takes an hour and a half and literally gets you ready to stop smoking by the next session, in a couple of days. In the second session you will smoke your last cigarette prior to the session. That session lasts one hour, and you’ll be taught to do self-hypnosis so that you will have a helpful tool when triggers occur. The final session is a reinforcement session two days later (these are usually held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Using hypnosis is a great way to quit smoking, so check it out!
